  • commercial broadcasting
  • telecommunications and IT
  • aviation
  • science and research

CPSU members receive information, support, advice and representation on issues that affect their working lives. Our delegates, staff and officials are committed to campaigning with members to:

  • improve pay and conditions
  • promote democratic workplaces and fair industrial relations
  • negotiate fair agreements
  • properly fund essential services
  • protect people at work
  • balance work and family life

What can we offer?

The CPSU is a values driven organisation. Our workplace and people are inspired, confident and passionate about what they do. The CPSU is an equal opportunity employer and actively encourages women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to apply for positions.

We focus on our people through offering a range of family friendly working conditions, allowing employees to balance their personal and professional lives. Such as:

  • flexible work practices and access to accrued days off or flex time
  • best practice maternity leave provisions (26 weeks paid) and supporting parental leave (six weeks paid)
  • 15.4% superannuation, including employer contributions on paid or unpaid parental leave for a period equal to a maximum of 52 weeks
  • a strong focus on health and safety including offering a range of health and well being initiatives
  • a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program
  • a strong commitment to training and development, including study leave
  • salary sacrificing
  • sustainable environmental initiatives

Performance and achievements

Together we have worked successfully as a team and achieved excellent results for our members. Prospective candidates can view the State of the Union Report 2012 for a detailed reflection on 2011 and future plans.

At the CPSU our people perform, drawing on their diversity to enrich and enhance our objectives. Together they create the drive to succeed and spirit of our workplace.
