What you bring:
Demonstrated commitment to trade unionism and social justice
Excellent listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills – ability to establish rapport, explore issues, encourage critical analysis and gain commitment to action
Ability to lead, motivate, develop and mobilize union members, workplace activists, and volunteers
Ability to analyse issues/problems and develop strategies to deal with them
Ability to deal professionally with diverse groups of people, including members, delegates and union officials
Enthusiasm, energy and creativity to do a challenging job in a difficult environment
Good written communication skills – ability to write leaflets, letters or reports and analyse written documents
Current drivers’ license
What you will do:
Work with members to solve local solutions for local issues
Recruit new workers to the CPSU
Identify and develop activists, and increase activity in the workplace
Implement national campaigns at the local level
Refer all individual grievances/issues to our organisers in the Membership Services Centre
Implement other strategies and campaigns as developed by the Executive Committee of the CPSU
