Field organiser - what you will do...


What you get

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated commitment to trade unionism and social justice
  • Excellent listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills – ability to establish rapport, explore issues, encourage critical analysis and gain commitment to action
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and mobilize union members, workplace activists, and volunteers
  • Ability to analyse issues/problems and develop strategies to deal with them
  • Ability to deal professionally with diverse groups of people, including members, delegates and union officials
  • Enthusiasm, energy and creativity to do a challenging job in a difficult environment
  • Good written communication skills – ability to write leaflets, letters or reports and analyse written documents
  • Current drivers’ license

What you will do:

  • Work with members to solve local solutions for local issues
  • Recruit new workers to the CPSU
  • Identify and develop activists, and increase activity in the workplace
  • Implement national campaigns at the local level
  • Refer all individual grievances/issues to our organisers in the Membership Services Centre
  • Implement other strategies and campaigns as developed by the Executive Committee of the CPSU
