ARC bargaining - which way to go?

17 March 2010, 1:25pm

Negotiations for your new ARC Enterprise Agreement are set to begin shortly. Your union, the CPSU, needs your guidance to finalise the claim we take to the negotiating table. Members and staff need to consider a number of factors.

The changed industrial landscape

Since the last agreement negotiation, the Federal Government has directed all APS agencies to include a common expiry date with greater scrutiny of pay rises above 3% for 12 months to apply to all new enterprise agreements being negotiated. This means your upcoming agreement will nominally expire on 30 June 2011.

Your choice for this agreement

The CPSU will be asking ARC members and staff to consider the opportunities and challenges of the new industrial landscape before making a decision about our position for negotiations.

Let’s talk!

The CPSU will be holding meeting (in paid time) for members and interested staff to discuss the path you want to take. There is lots to talk about;

  • new bargaining rules
  • an APS framework agreement
  • what this all this means for ARC enterprise agreement
