CPSU members say YES

8 April 2010, 3:16pm

Results from the union endorsement vote are in.

69% are in favour of endorsing the proposed Enterprise Agreement with 31% rejecting. Based on this result, CPSU recommends staff support the agreement coming into effect by voting YES in the all staff vote. Questacon estimates this should take place 27 to 29 April.

Important improvements won

With the support of delegates, your union will work to ensure that improved conditions are monitored and enforced including:

  • transition to adult rates based on satisfactory performance effective from 1 July 2010

  • genuine, enforceable consultation provisions that give you a real say in the workplace

  • facilities for delegates to carry out their work and recognition that they speak on behalf of members.

More work to be done

CPSU is committed to campaigning to address unfair gaps in APS pay and for equitable conditions across the service including:

  • equal pay for work of equal value

  • fair travel allowances that adequately address employees’ needs

  • addressing superannuation inequities for women.

Find out more about the campaign at http://www.cpsu.org.au/campaigns/17020.html.

Thanks to the dedicated delegates on the bargaining team

Special thanks go to your excellent bargaining team who have persistently canvassed your views and dutifully carried all Questacon issues to the bargaining table.

Membership makes a difference

The growing support and involvement of your colleagues has helped deliver a better result for Questacon employees. By being union members you help provide the power and resources we need to continue work to address unfair gaps in APS pay, conditions and classifications. Membership fees are tax-deductible and tiered to salary so the less you earn, the less you pay i.e. casuals earning less than $10,000 can join for $3.90 a fortnight.
