CPSU bargaining team are recommending members endorse the proposed NHMRC enterprise agreement. On the basis of member votes, CPSU will either recommend or oppose the agreement in the all staff ballot. CPSU members have until noon, Monday, 7 June to vote.
What are the improvements in this agreement?
Early commencement of new enterprise agreement in July before September expiry of current agreement. A 3% pay rise effective from 8 July 2010. New access to part time arrangements for parents with children up to school age.
14 weeks paid leave for the primary care givers similar to the previous maternity leave.
Dispute resolution for all EA issues and all employment related policies and guidelines.
Why CPSU recommends you vote “Yes”
This is a more comprehensive agreement with many improvements and recognition of employee rights and consultation procedures. This agreement also brings many of the employment conditions that were previously in policy into a legally enforceable form.
How to vote
Just click on one of the following to send an email of your vote.
You need to be a CPSU member or have completed a membership form to be eligible to vote. Voting will close at Midday Monday 7 June.
What happens now?
The all-staff consideration period is between now and 7 June. The all-staff vote on the agreement is scheduled for 8 to 15 June. If a majority of voters vote YES, the agreement will be lodged with Fair Work Australia (FWA). FWA will test that employees will be ‘better off overall’ under the agreement than under the relevant award and issue a decision approving the agreement. Your new EA will come into effect 7 days after FWA issues its decision.
