Time to take a stand!

17 October 2007, 11:04am

It’s now time for NTPS Staff to send a message to Government that we are still unable to accept their offer.

The offer failed to address the concerns raised by NTPS staff in our recent survey. It also does not address recruitment and retention issues faced by the NTPS.

We stand by what we say

  • NTPS workers’ wages have just kept pace with inflation since 2000 and the OCPE wage offer provides little chance of a real wage increase
  • NTPS workers’ wages have not kept pace with the NT general market, nurses, teachers and wages for WA and QLD public servants
  • The OCPE wage offer does not take into account productivity improvements generated by employees over the last three years; and
  • The OCPE wage offer does not meet the union’s wages claim or what NTPS workers deserve.

Comparison Tables for NTPS workers

Negotiations

CPSU met with the Commissioner today. CPSU has pursued your claim and has provided some comparative tables. The OCPE have undertaken to consider these, however they stand by their claim that their offer will not only keep NTPS wages and conditions comparative with other employers, but will also go towards addressing recruitment and retention issues in the public sector.

We know this is not true.

What you can do

Fill in our online poll today and send the employer a message. It will show the employer how serious we are in improving pay and conditions for public sector workers.
