New policies and procedures – what do you think?

4 September 2008, 10:58am

CPSU members at RET have flagged that there is a lot of uncertainty across the Department due to changes being made to Departmental policies and procedures.

CPSU is keen to hear what you think of proposed new policy and procedures so we can effectively represent your views. These issues may also be dealt with in the course of negotiations for your upcoming collective agreement.

What is being changed?

Enabling Service Group have drafted the following: • Code of Conduct policy • planning for accommodation changes within Industry House • interim arrangements for performance management within RET.

Genuine consultation?

While it appears there has been some consultation on these changes, your union believes a vital part of genuine consultation is the capacity to influence decisions before they are made. Thus, CPSU want to know what you think about proposed changes to Departmental policy and procedures so we can effectively represent your views to management.

What do you think?

There are a few ways you can let us know:

  1. Email cheikh.kone@cpsu.org.au and let us know what your views
  2. Support efforts to improve your consultation process
  3. Volunteer to be a workplace contact

Have your say in the CA process

CPSU is currently formulating our bargaining claim for your next collective agreement. The bargaining claim will be the base for the negotiation of the agreement. This could be yet your best opportunity for developing a collective agreement that contains:

  • a new, genuine and an effective consultation mechanism
  • a strong dispute resolution process
  • a pay increase that recognises, values and rewards you for your contribution to Australia
  • the work-life balance you deserve.

If you believe you deserve the above, you should do the following:

  • Participate - Come to claim feedback meetings (details to be advised)
  • Commit - Join the CPSU online at https://web.cpsu.org.au/join  or call 1300 137 636
  • Be a leader - Nominate for the CPSU bargaining team.
