Science, CSIRO and the Federal Election - 28 July 2010
The CSIRO Staff Association has written to the leaders of the Australian Labor Party, the Coalition and the Greens to seek their commitment to public sector science and CSIRO.

Dispute forces backflip on CSIRO IM&T term positions - 22 July 2010
On 23 June, IM&T staff were advised that management positions (5 CSOF 7s & 1 CSOF 6) in the new IM&T structure were to be advertised as three year term promotions. The Staff Association immediately queried how these positions could be justified as term. Schedule 2 of the Enterprise Agreement sets out strict requirements for the establishment of term positions.

Dispute in Fair Work Australia improves information provision on CSIRO redundancy benefit options - 8 July 2010
During redundancy processes conducted in CSIRO Materials Science and Engineering (CMSE), your union became aware that potentially redundant staff were only being provided with financial cessation estimates for the so called “fast track” redundancy option.

APScience - the CPSU science network - 22 June 2010
In April, CPSU reported that we had created an inter-agency network to promote the essential work of science related agencies to the public, to the Government, public sector and the community.

Widespread support for CSIRO IM&T services forces meeting with CEO - 17 June 2010
CSIRO Information Management and Technology (IM&T) management have proposed approximately 39 redundancies (plus 12 in library services) in creating a new IM&T organisational structure.

The Council is the governing body of the CSIRO Staff Association. The Executive and Secretary manage the day-to-day operations of the Association, in between Council meetings.
