Medicare Australia

Negotiations for a new Medicare Australia Collective Agreement are underway! CPSU members achieve better pay and conditions by acting collectively, supporting each other, and making their voice heard.

And the Medicare winner is… - 30 September 2008
Thanks to all the staff who sent photos in from the recent week of action. The photo winners have now been announced.

Medicare: Negotiations update - 30 September 2008
Much progress was made during last week’s negotiations. The key outstanding matters are now pay, personal leave, pay parity for FAO staff, and remote locality assistance. Your union representatives will be running paid time meetings over the next two weeks to seek your feedback and direction before heading back to the negotiation table.

Medicare management announce pay offer - 22 September 2008
Management has finally announced its bargaining position, including a pay offer and revised leave proposal. The proposal goes some way to addressing matters raised by your union and the action taken by staff.

Medicare negotiation matters still outstanding - 22 September 2008
Management have now released their full bargaining position. Yet there are many matters still outstanding that management have not included in their bargaining position. Your union will be meeting with management later this week to try and resolve these outstanding matters.

Medicare staff show that they care - 15 September 2008
Thousands of Medicare staff have shown that they care about getting a fair deal on pay and conditions by participating in the national week of action.

Personal leave
Your personal leave entitlements can be found in your Medicare Australia Certified Agreement under section 28 and the Medicare Australia intranet *.

Part-time work
Part-time work may provide options for managing work/life balance. Part-time work entitlements can be found in section 31 of your Medicare Australia Certified Agreement.

Flex time
Flexible working arrangements are designed to allow greater scope to maximise working patterns to meet the needs of employees, teams and Medicare Australia. All employees have access to flex time. Flex time entitlements are covered under Section 30 of the Medicare Australia Certified Agreement and on the Medicare Australia intranet.

Representation
Your rights to be represented by your union are protected by the Workplace Relations Act, the Medicare Australia Certified Agreement, and Medicare Australia’s policy and guidelines.
