Thousands have their say – what about you?

5 June 2008, 10:42am

In the last two weeks your union has run more than 600 meetings in Centrelink workplaces across the country to listen to what you have to say and find out what you want in your next union Collective Agreement.

What about the Call Centres?

The one hour paid time meetings will continue and are due to kick off in Call Centres the week beginning 17 June. Your local CPSU representative will be notified of dates and times soon. All CPSU members will be released, so make sure you attend and let all your Call Centre work mates know you’re getting to have a real say in your next agreement!

I’m not yet a CPSU member – can I attend?

CPSU welcomes everyone and we think all employees should have the right to come along and have their say. If you are a CPSU member you will be automatically released by your manager to attend. Not a CPSU member yet? You can always join at the meeting - it’s easy and it’s the best way to make a difference.

Should I go to the Centrelink Agreement Forums? Absolutely!

Use every opportunity you get to make sure Centrelink knows what you want in your union Collective Agreement. The CPSU was invited by Centrelink to give a ten minute presentation as a part of the four hour workshops. The CPSU declined this offer as more than ten minutes is needed to properly hear and discuss what you want in your next Agreement.

I work in a remote site or missed my meeting – how do I have my say?

The CPSU is running a series of telephone conferences (one hour paid time) to make sure everyone gets their say. Check the times below and register by sending an email with your name, workplace, phone number and preferred time to cpsu.centrelink@cpsu.org.au at least 24 hours before the scheduled conference. Important note: You MUST register to attend a conference so that important materials can be emailed to you.
