What should I do if I have an accident at work?

If you suffer an injury or illness at work or experience a serious near-miss incident, fill out an incident report and notify your supervisor, health and safety representative and union delegate.

Additional details

If you are exposed to potentially dangerous substances such as asbestos, biological hazards (for example, legionnaire’s disease) or chemicals, make sure the date and circumstances of the incident are recorded in your personnel file. These records could provide valuable evidence for later claims.
