Last weekend on the occasion of the Queen’s birthday, public servants received the high distinction of a Public Service Medal (PSM) for the quality of their work.
The Public Service Medal recognises outstanding service of employees across the Commonwealth, state, territory and local governments. Among the list of recipients, few CPSU members from various departments were honoured.
Very warm congratulations to the following members:
Mr Mark John deWEERD, DEEWR, ICC (Indigenous Coordination Centre) for outstanding public service in implementing the Council of Australian Governments’ Whole of Government Indigenous Trial in the Murdi Paaki region.
Ms Mary Frances DURKIN, OCO (Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman) for outstanding public service in developing the Immigration Ombudsman function and improving the integrity of the immigration detention program.
Ms Merrie Elizabeth HENNESSY, APRA (Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority) for outstanding public service in the development and implementation of superannuation regulation and legislation.
Mr John Leslie WILLIAMS, DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship) for outstanding public service in the successful settlement and participation of both established and emerging migrant communities in Australia.
