Union Picnic and family fun day - Canberra
On the Monday 25 September Canberra public holiday, Unions ACT will be hosting a family fun day. There will be food stalls, rides, a jumping castle, entertainment, fairy floss, face painting, a petting zoo and more!
Entry is free, at the Patrick White Lawns (between the National Library and the lake) from 10am-2pm. Bring your kids (or borrow someone else’s) and have a fun day out.
If you’re not yet a member then join here to make sure you’re in the loop on this and other fantastic union organised events.
Some rides and food stalls will require a ticket purchase. For your chance to win a free ride ticket - get in touch with your organiser, Megan Baker-Goldsmith and answer this trivia question: When was Family and Community Day moved from Melbourne Cup day to September?

Equality is union business
The CPSU exists to advocate for the rights of our members. We believe every member deserves dignity and respect, both in the workplace and in society. Nobody should be treated as lesser under the law because of their sexual orientation or their gender identity.
Marriage equality is an important community issue and APS workers have the right as Australian citizens to comment and engage around the issue on social media.
You also have the right to talk with your co-workers about social and political issues on breaks at work.
Remember that union members can also get help on any workplace issues that arise from our member service centre on 1300 137 636.
If you are not yet a union member, join here or contact your organiser Megan Baker-Goldsmith on 0408 494 323 to learn about how you can be part of this important moment in Australian history.
