Support the Burma Cyclone Appeal, Point well made at Centerlink, Better things to come at Telstra?, Federal Budget and much more...

1) Support the Burma Cyclone Appeal
The crisis in Burma (Mynmar) continues with many thousands of survivors in desperate need of food, shelter and aid. Union Aid Abroad - APHEDA has been working the people of Burma for many years and has staff in the region ready to assist. Find out how you can help here.

2) Point well made
Why are thousands of Centrelink staff wearing safety pins to work? Find out here

3) Telstra: Better things to come?
With a new Government in Canberra and new workplace laws on the way, is there a better deal on the horizon for Telstra workers? Find out more here.

4) Federal Budget
As expected, this weeks Federal Budget contained significant changes to the public sector. Read the CPSU Budget overview here and a follow-up media report in The Australian.

5) Mothers' Day winners
We had a great response to our Mothers' Day competition which asked for your best (and worst) presents for Mum. Thanks to everyone that shared the love (and the pain). Congratulations to Kathie, Tennille, Carolyn and Angela who won a copy of Makeup: The ultimate guide thanks to Allen & Unwin. To read some of the sweet, funny and poignant stories we received click here.

6) Paid maternity leave update
Thanks to everyone who completed our paid maternity leave survey and congratulations to Louise Mitchell from AGD, who has won a $100 Pumpkin Patch gift voucher. With over 1,200 CPSU women participating in the survey there's plenty of information to add to our submission to the Productivity Commission inquiry. To see how things are shaping up click here.

7) What do you think about IT ?
The Australian Government is conducting a review into the effectiveness and efficiency of its current use of information and communication technology (ICT). CPSU wants to hear your opinions and experiences of ICT to inform our submission to the review. Please provide comments here by Tuesday 20th May 2008.

8) Read all about it
Thanks to Member Advantage, CPSU members can access discount subscriptions to a range of publications including Better Homes and Gardens, National Geographic, Delicious, In Style, Colours, Donna Hay plus many more. Full details here.
