1) Q: APS recruitment problems? A: Better pay and conditions
An Australian National Audit Office report showing the public service is struggling to recruit suitable staff proves more needs to be done to improve pay and conditions. Read more and have your say here.

2) Tough Budget ahead
The 13 May Budget will be the toughest in a decade and is seen by many as the first real test of the Rudd Government's economic credentials, writes National Secretary, Stephen Jones. Read on here.

3) Union win delivers $66k for NT Centrelink staff
A long running dispute with Centrelink has been successfully concluded with CPSU winning approximately $66k in remote localities conditions for ten CPSU members in the Top End. More here.

7) Let's hit the road for breast cancer research
On 11 May, union members around the country will join together under Your Rights at Work banners to raise money for breast cancer research through the annual Mothers Day Classic Fun-Run. With one in eight Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer by the age of 85, the Mothers Day Classic is a cause worth supporting.
