The Department of Home Affairs has released the draft Terms of Reference for the Government’s Multicultural Framework Review to support multiculturalism.

The Review will assess and make recommendations on the institutional arrangements and policy settings required to advance a multicultural Australia and meet the current and future needs of multicultural Australia at the Commonwealth level. The Review will consider a number of things including the effectiveness of current federal diversity, equity and inclusion strategies for ensuring the Australian Public Service workforce reflects multicultural Australia.

This provides an opportunity for CPSU CALD Network members to identify the particular barriers that have led to underrepresentation of CALD workers in the APS including at senior levels, and to advocate for the specific measures necessary to improve CALD representation across all areas and levels of the APS.

It’s an important chance for CALD Network members to be heard on issues you care about and improve your career opportunities and development in the public sector.
