As you would be aware, the national vaccine rollout commenced last week, starting with vaccinations of high priority groups, including some APS employees in Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment and Department of Home Affairs.

The CPSU has met with the Public Service Commissioner and Deputy Chief Medical Officer regarding the vaccine roll-out in the APS, as well as frontline agencies who are expected to be in the priority groups.

Employees in the APS are being encouraged to get the vaccine and provided with paid time to attend, as well as consideration around reasonable travel expenses and appropriate arrangements for those with caring responsibilities.

The vaccine is voluntary and if you want to read more about how it works and get up-to-date information from our key public health officials, visit the Department of Health’s COVID-19 Vaccines page.
