I’m here to tell you that you, you were right.
The NDIA was found to be in breach of the Work Health and Safety Act (WHS Act) for not providing a safe workplace for you.
This is the first time in the APS that an agency has been found in breach of the WHS Act for unreasonable workloads. For your unreasonable workloads.
And nothing would have changed if it wasn’t for you - every delegate, every member, collectively raising our voices for a better and safer NDIS.
And while ComCare, the WHS regulator, is satisfied with how the agency proposes to fix the issue, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.
Your union representatives are meeting with senior management to ensure that workload reviews are done properly and that members see real changes in their workloads this year.
