This two-day course is for new and experienced delegates. It provides newer delegates with foundational knowledge critical to your role and builds on existing knowledge and skills for those of you with more experience.

With a practical focus it covers such topics as:

  • Your role and rights as a union delegate;
  • CPSU plan and current campaigns and activities;
  • The basics of how to assist a member with an individual issue;
  • What to do if there is a collective issue in your workplace;

These courses are generally held in capital cities in-person, with some courses open to all delegates and others specified for delegates in certain agencies only (e.g. Services Australia). If you are unable to attend this course in-person, the Delegate Foundations training via zoom may be more appropriate for you. Speak with your organiser about this.
