Statements in yesterday’s ABC’s MyEA update regarding ABC management’s position on redundancy are disingenuous and misleading.
Contrary to what has been reported, ABC management’s proposal scraps the only clear and legally enforceable rights you have when it comes to how ABC managers select people for redundancy. Please don’t take our word for it - click here to see the Fair Work Determination that will no longer form part of your agreement if management’s proposal is voted up.
While we acknowledge ABC management’s right to communicate its honestly held views to its workers, this is a significant omission which gives ABC workers the incorrect impression that the proposed offer does not change or cut your existing redundancy conditions, when clearly it does.
CPSU members will be provided with a detailed analysis of the ABC’s proposed one year offer later this week including further analysis of how removing redundancy rights from the new agreement will affect you. For more information please contact your local CPSU delegate or organiser.
