AWM - overwhelming support for CPSU bargaining claim

12 March 2010, 1:31pm

CPSU members have endorsed our Bargaining Claim for your next collective agreement.
Your CPSU negotiators will begin advocating your position to management at the meeting on Monday 15 March.  Your demonstrated support to improve and protect your workplace conditions is the base of our negotiations.

Features of the claim include:

  1. 4% pay increase
  2. Fair compensation and universal application staff involvement in discretionary work outside core hours related to AWM major events. No disadvantage or discrimination if staff choose not to participate.

  3. Genuine consultation with facilities for representatives and an opportunity to influence decisions before they are made.

  4. Job security and forms of employment - ongoing employment shall be standard.

  5. Workplace rights for employees and your delegates

  6. Protection and improvement of existing conditions of employment through comprehensively expressing them in the collective agreement.

  7. A better work/life balance

You can see the whole claim here

What happens now?

  1. We present your endorsed claim to management for their consideration.
  2. We anticipate that management will present some claims of their own for us to consider.
  3. We will organise to meet you, report back on the outcome, take your feedback and get back to negotiations.

Remember, your feedback and support will determine outcomes all the way.

How can we win?

Your support is vital to show management we are committed to securing good pay and conditions. If you want an agreement that provides a competitive pay rise and enforceable conditions, you need to:

  • Volunteer: Help distribute union material in your branch. Email cheikh.kone@cpsu.org.au
  • Support your Bargaining Team by joining the CPSU
