Questacon - time is running out to claim your 2010 Healthy Lifestyle subsidy

11 June 2010, 10:44am

Questacon has released the final version of its Healthy Lifestyle Subsidy policy. The $150 subsidy is one of the improvements made to your working conditions this year, as a result of union members campaigning for a better agreement at Questacon.

The subsidy is to encourage staff in activities that maintain or improve their health and wellbeing on an ongoing basis.

Can I get the subsidy?

To be eligible for the subsidy, you need to:

  • Have been a Questacon employee with at least 12 months continuous service
  • Produce proof of purchase for items that are for the purpose of maintaining or improving your health and wellbeing
  • Provide additional evidence of a commitment to a healthy lifestyle if the item you bought was generic (for example, sneakers).

You should apply straight away, or as soon as you have an expense you want to claim for. To be eligible for the subsidy this financial year, you need to get your application in before 30 June 2010.

Check out the policy in full here

How has the policy been improved?

Improvements to how agreements are made meant CPSU was able to help make important changes to the Healthy Lifestyle policy, including:

  1. Easier to understand language that matches the wording of your collective agreement
  2. Removing the need to provide both a receipt and proof of a commitment to a healthy lifestyle all in all cases
  3. Decisions based on what a reasonable person would think.

CPSU welcomes the significant changes Questacon made in response to your feedback.

Stronger (and healthier) together

CPSU is working to ensure the new agreement is implemented correctly and that you have access to conditions and receive your proper entitlements. By joining CPSU you get access to professional representation and expert advice. CPSU membership is tiered and tax deductible.
