DEEWR - one agency, one agreement

The first steps have been taken to bargaining a new agreement for DEEWR. We know that by working together we will get the best outcomes for everyone.

CPSU expertise

This is no ordinary bargain given that it involves a newly merged and very large department, staff employed on many different arrangements, and a new road map for bargaining. It’s complicated but CPSU brings experience and expertise to the table – and we need you. Good outcomes in negotiation don’t happen by chance. The key will be people like you joining the union, getting involved, and sticking together.

Current DEEWR pay scales

These are the pay scales and information forwarded to the CPSU by DEEWR management. They show the DEWR AWA and DEST AWA pay rates as at March this year and the new CA rates as of 4 September, after management's salary realignment exercise for CA staff.

Pay parity BBQ a great success!

HTML clipboHTML clipboardA BBQ rally on Pay Parity in DEEWR was held last week. Over 200 people attended to show their support for a more equitable solution in DEEWR. See some photos from the BBQ in the Image Gallery at the bottom of this page.

DEEWR pay gap – the facts
After examining current pay rates, the research (see attached) confirms what many DEEWR employees have long suspected as true: that the notion of equal pay for work of an equal value has undergone a gross distortion and needs a real solution.  [read more] Paid time meetings update

Thanks to all those who responded to the CPSU bargaining survey. We had a great response, and now have a clear picture of what you want from your agreement.  [read more] Pay parity… Not yet
Management has announced an interim measure to address some of the discrepancies in pay across DEEWR. All DEEWR employees covered by the terms of a former collective agreement are to move onto a new pay scale that reflects the best of what exists in those CA’s.  [read more] Time to tell us what you want
CPSU are meeting DEEWR management this Friday to discuss some serious concerns about the process for negotiations. In the meantime, we getting on with the job of making sure the draft claim covers what you want from your agreement.  [read more]
