Revenue versus expenditure
The Australian National Audit Office estimates that it costs an organisation about $55,000 to replace each employee who leaves. This cost includes recruitment, training, time lost in productivity and lost intellectual property. Considering this, it is more efficient to retain existing staff by maintaining wages and providing conditions that we value.
Similarly, inadequately resourced positions with increasing workloads risks higher staff turnover which is counter productive to increasing productivity - a balanced approach is required.
The endorsed CPSU bargaining claim put to CRS management in June 2008 outlines decent pay and fair conditions including a number of measures we believe will have the effect of increasing revenue and decreasing expenditure in CRS.
