Your ideas and suggestions

You’ve already worn rings to show your commitment, please let us know your other ideas for activities you would like to do to support your claim and your union negotiating team. Email us your ideas and suggestions here.

Key factors for campaign success

  1. You - being a member of your union, join online here
  2. Your participation – in the bargaining process by attending meetings, providing feedback
  3. Your union – providing skilled negotiators and expert advice.

Revenue versus expenditure

The Australian National Audit Office estimates that it costs an organisation about $55,000 to replace each employee who leaves. This cost includes recruitment, training, time lost in productivity and lost intellectual property. Considering this, it is more efficient to retain existing staff by maintaining wages and providing conditions that we value.

Similarly, inadequately resourced positions with increasing workloads risks higher staff turnover which is counter productive to increasing productivity - a balanced approach is required.

The endorsed CPSU bargaining claim put to CRS management in June 2008 outlines decent pay and fair conditions including a number of measures we believe will have the effect of increasing revenue and decreasing expenditure in CRS.

Thank you to the 38%* of staff who responded to the CPSU questionnaire. Yesterday we put to management that 76% of respondents reject management’s current offer and a clear majority are prepared to work to participate in an ongoing and escalating campaign in support of their claim. Management are considering their offer and your union negotiating team meet with them again on Thursday. (*Annual Report 2006/2007).  [read more] CRS: Time to decide
Management have asked the CPSU to reach in principle agreement. Negotiations have been tough and management are saying they just don’t have the money to improve the offer. We told CRS that we would put the offer to you in good faith.  [read more] A better deal for rehab workers - CRS Australia staff make a stand
