FaHCSIA - we're worth MORE

FaHCSIA staff are being asked to vote on a replacement collective agreement this week. 83% of union members have already shown their support for the proposed agreement and your union recommends staff vote ‘yes’ to approve the deal.

The final offer on pay is:

  • 4.3% + 1.4% on commencement compounded
  • 4.3% in November 2009 and
  • 4.1% in November 2010

Improvements in conditions include:

  • 14 weeks Maternity Leave, 2 weeks Paternity Leave + 2 weeks from personal leave. (Management will enable the extra 2 weeks where insufficient personal leave entitlements are not available)
  • Length of agreement: The agreement will cease on 14 November 2011 irrespective of commencement date
  • Good Health Payment: Increased from $100 to $300 and paid to all staff in April of each year
  • Recreation Leave cashout: 10 days annual leave can be cashed out in each year if 10 days leave are taken concurrently

Changes in the proposed CA include:

  • Loss of part day travel
  • Introduction of an 8 day cap on personal/carer's leave without satisfactory evidence. Evidence can include a statutory declaration and management have agreed to a discretionary clause so as not to disadvantage staff with ongoing medical conditions.
