Delegate training

CPSU is offering a new program of delegate training in 2012. Whether you are new to being a delegate, would like a refresher or want to learn about representing members, there is a course for you.

The training program will be run in all capital cities and some regional centres during the first half of 2012. You can check the training schedule here. If you are interested in participating in one of these courses please contact your local CPSU Organiser, phone the CPSU Member Service Centre on 1300 137 636 or email delegates@cpsu.org.au

Delegate Foundations

Ever wondered what the role of a delegate is? Come and join other delegates from across the CPSU for a new two-day course about the role, rights and responsibilities of being a delegate in 2012. You’ll be equipped with knowledge about industrial law, workplace relations and CPSU structure and processes as well as communication skills and the confidence to carry out this important role in your workplace.

Representation Skills

For many delegates, representing members is the most rewarding and interesting part of the role. In this new two-day course, you will learn how to represent members on individual and collective workplace matters. Topics covered include your Collective Agreement, industrial relations law and consultation processes as well as negotiation skills and case studies. With delegates from across CPSU, you’ll practice your skills in the important role of representing your members.
