Regional Delegates Conference 2009

Register your interest in attending Regional Delegates Conference 2009.

Conference topics

Agenda for Change:

  • Essential Services Campaign - What will the needs of the Australian public be in the future? What will government services look like in 3-5 years?
  • Fair Work Act - What does the new Fair Work Act mean for our members in critical areas such as the APS, NTPS, ACT Government and Telstra?

Building our Capacity: 

  • Delegates Program - What representative rights do we need to secure for workers and their representatives? What is the role of the representative in the new IR environment?
  • The Commonwealth Human Services Portfolio Growth campaign and the Canberra Region Growth Initiative - building our union power by targetting our efforts for growth in critical areas

Program

  • Morning session: Speakers on main topics followed by Q&A 
  • Afternoon session: Workshops on each of the topics. Delegates can choose which topic they'd like to be involved in workshopping.

All new and renewed delegates since October 2008, as well as Section Councillors and Governing Councillors.
