Violence and aggression is an identified hazard in the Model Code of Practice: Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work.

Violence and aggression includes any incident or interaction where a person is abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances at, or arising from, their work. Violence and aggression has the potential to impact those who are directly affected, as well as those who may witness the incident.

The hierarchy of control offers strategies to ensure that employees are protected where it is not reasonably practicable to eliminate risks.
