Despite being banned in 2003, thousands of buildings and machinery parts still contain asbestos. For some workers, this includes their workplaces. This factsheet has been created as information for members working in sites which were built with asbestos containing materials to understand work health and safety rights in relation to unintentional exposure. There are additional regulations for those working in construction or removal of asbestos or at higher risk of exposure due to the nature of their work.
