New WHS Regulations for managing psychosocial risk took effect across the Commonwealth jurisdiction from 1 April 2023. To support these regulations, a new Commonwealth Code of Practice for Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work came into effect on 1 November 2024.

The new Commonwealth Code improves on the earlier Model Code of Practice, by improving and clarifying the risk management process to be followed, and expressly recognising a further three psychosocial hazards which may cause harm that employers across the Commonwealth must consider and manage.
