Workplaces across Australia (including the APS) often use redundancies or job cuts as a short-term response to budgetary pressures. Reducing the workforce without proper planning can create significant work health and safety risks, particularly psychosocial. These risks must be identified, assessed and controlled in accordance with WHS legislation.
